Dave Madden is the author of If You Need Me I’ll Be Over There and The Authentic Animal: Inside the Odd and Obsessive World of Taxidermy. His shorter work has appeared in The Guardian, Harper’s, Zyzzyva, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. He’s the recipient of the Sherwood Anderson Award in fiction, an AWP Intro Journals Award in nonfiction, and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Vermont Studio Center, and the MacDowell Colony. He directs the MFA program at the University of San Francisco.
